NCEA Level 3 Practical Physical Education

Subject Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr D. Shelford

This is a practical based Level 3 NCEA course with a focus on self management, participation, fitness and performance in a variety of physical activities. It is made up of both unit and achievement standards and is targeted at students who have an interest in being active, team work and getting fit. Students will be encouraged to develop knowledge and skills that will lead them to be more resourceful, self-reliant and responsible. 

This course is constructed to have 70% practical and 30% theory based lessons. It is made up of internal Achievement and Unit Standards.




Recommended Prior Learning

Satisfactory completion of Level 2 or at the HOD’s discretion. 

Participation in a RLHS sports team is highly recommended.
