Subject Description
Drama improves communication skills, lateral thinking, team building, creativity and imagination, and self-confidence, and its principles can be applied to a wide range of work environments and management skills.
Students will select and use Elements, Techniques, Conventions and Technologies associated with drama to create form and meaning in their own and others work.
Research, evaluation and analysis will also be used to refine ideas within a range of forms to develop individual and ensemble dramaturgy.
Subject Overview
Term 1
Drama Techniques and Devised Theatre : performance and written component for both papers.
Term 2
Performance work on Form ( genre) and style: performance and written component.
Term 3
Understanding a significant play: written and presentation required.
Recommended Prior Learning
English at Achieved level for Year 10.
