NCEA Level 3 Drama

Subject Description


This course combines the theory and practical aspects of drama to not only develop performance skills, but also create an understanding of our world. Students will select and use elements, techniques, conventions and technologies associated with drama. 

Research, evaluation and analysis will also be used to refine ideas within a range of dramatic forms to develop drama performances. 

Students will perform and make critical judgments about how elements, techniques, conventions and technologies are used to create form and meaning in their own and others work. 

Throughout the course, the use of elements, techniques, conventions and technologies of drama will be taught to the students, thus providing an exciting and well-rounded experience.  




Recommended Prior Learning


Level 2 Drama and / or a minimum of  Level 1 English.
