Geography & Environmental Studies at Level 2 focuses on how humans connect with and change the natural environment. It involves learning about
- just how clean and green is New Zealand?
- environmental problems of habitat destruction, deforestation and mining
- the Amazon Rainforest
- conservation issues and protection of resources
- homicide in Chicago
This subject also requires students to plan and carry out a practical research project involving a field trip.
Geography & Environmental Studies is a literacy rich course which teaches the skills of research, communication, resource interpretation and report writing.
